Goyotaku

Back when there were no cameras for fisherman to record their trophy catches, the Japanese came up with a unique printing method called Goyotaku. Gyo means fish, and Taku means impression. Japanese fisherman would take paper, ink and brushes to sea with them. They would brush the fish with non toxic Sumi ink and then print them on rice paper. Here is a trout that I caught and printed using this technique.
