A Skier's Bucket List: The 5 Best Locations to Ski at this Winter

The snow is coming down. The powder is fresh. It's time to hit the slopes and ski! We love to take a trip to the nearby mountains and make it a family affair. While Jackson Hole, is a great location that features some of the region's best trails and slopes; here is 4 other locations that we recommend to visit and ski at this winter!
Burlington, Vermont
Vermont’s stunning natural beauty shines from atop the many summits near Burlington. One of the most popular destinations here is Stowe Mountain Resort, and for good reason—the 485 acre land has more mile-long lifts than any other resort in the East, and you can choose from 116 trails, with the highest skiing elevation reaching 3,625 feet.
Taos Pueblo, New Mexico
You won’t have to drive far from Taos Pueblo to hit the slopes at the nearest ski resort, Taos Ski Valley. Only 18 miles from town, the resort offers spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. There’s also a nearby hot springs destination, Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa, that offers sulfur-free mineral waters, mud pools, massages, yoga, and hiking trails.
Lake Tahoe, California
There is nothing like standing at the top of the mountain, picking out your line with a view of the pristine Lake Tahoe in the background. In Tahoe there is much more than the lake and the view, though. You can choose between 7 major resorts in the area, excellent backcountry riding, clear cloudless days and expect tons of snow all winter long. Head to Squaw Valley or Kirkwood for epic powder turns, cliffs and steeps. If you are looking for more intermediate terrain and park riding, try Heavenly or Northstar.
Denver, Breckenridge
Situated about 80 miles southwest of downtown Denver, Breckenridge offers travelers nearly 3,000 acres of skiable terrain spread across 187 trails. And with annual snowfalls averaging roughly 25 feet every winter, odds are you'll enjoy superb conditions while on the mountain.
